Supporting Healing Through Trauma-Informed Care
Trauma can affect how we think, feel, and respond to everyday experiences. At Vos Vita Counseling, our therapists incorporate EMDR-informed principles alongside evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care to help clients process difficult experiences, build resilience, and move toward healing.
What Is EMDR-Informed Therapy?
Trauma-Informed Support for Lasting Healing
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapeutic approach developed to help individuals process traumatic memories and reduce emotional distress. While EMDR therapy follows a specialized protocol delivered by fully trained EMDR clinicians, EMDR-informed therapy integrates many of the same trauma-sensitive principles into treatment.
Vos Vita uses these principles to help clients strengthen emotional regulation, develop coping skills, and create a greater sense of safety and stability throughout the healing process.

EMDR-Informed Therapy FAQ
What is the difference between EMDR and EMDR-informed therapy?
EMDR therapy follows a structured protocol completed by specially trained EMDR clinicians. EMDR-informed therapy incorporates trauma-sensitive principles alongside other evidence-based approaches to support healing.
Is EMDR-informed therapy only for trauma?
No. While it's commonly used to support trauma recovery, EMDR-informed principles may also benefit individuals experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions.
Will I have to talk about every traumatic experience?
Not necessarily. Therapy moves at a pace that feels safe and comfortable. Your therapist will never pressure you to discuss experiences before you're ready.
Is EMDR-informed therapy available virtually?
Yes. EMDR-informed services are available both in person in Marietta and through secure telehealth sessions across Georgia when clinically appropriate.
