    My Approach to Helping

Hi! I am Todd, the Principal of GenesisSquared Counselling.

My approach is solution and goal-oriented, and centred in the relationships in YOUR world. I’m trained in a multitude of approaches and that helps us work in ways that help you make the most powerful changes. Through a series of personalized, effective conversations, I’ll support you as you discover practical solutions to quickly and effectively overcome your challenges in both your personal and professional life.

I’m not just a clinical psychotherapist with a great deal of training – I have a very broad range of life experiences and client experiences that we will draw from. All of this helps me be not just an insightful but helps me coach you in very practical ways. We are all wired a bit differently – I see these differences to be a great gift.

People that work with me tell me I have a unique and powerful way of being an integral support and coach. I’m honoured to be the person that trusted as they faced life challenges and achieved life goals.

I love what I do. I get to help people conquer their fears and challenges, and create awesome lives! To be a part of how you achieve your dreams – that’s my passion, and I consider it an honour and privilege that I take very seriously.

Let’s chat on the phone, and if that feels right, come see me, you can book directly online on my website – it may be the start of something pretty amazing!

    How Psychotherapy Can Help

Well actually, how Psychotherapeutic Coaching can help!
What I share is a bit different than traditional therapy.
I’m a big results guy. And although change through therapy can take some time, where there is a practical way to escalate the process, and manage the current pain, I’m all over it – that happens through your application of practical tools, and that is called coaching.
Psychotherapeutic Coaching integrates the practical tools upfront, to clear a little space to figure out why your brain is working the way it works, so we can embed these changes for the long term.
Yes, this all takes commitment and work, but if your serious, let us make it as practical and effective as we can, for both the short term and the long term.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

I get that. And, if you wanted to up your golf game, you would hire a Golf Pro. I provide Psychotherapeutic Coaching. It’s like having a sage golf pro on your team, someone who has mastered the game, and knows how to show you how to do the same. What we feel, how we think, and the outcomes we get, are all a result of how skilfully we work with our brain. It’s not rocket science, its neuroscience! And given the right approach and skills, it simply works. Get in touch and tell me what you want to achieve, and I will help you get there.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I was a weird kid, I always wanted to be the best and went to some pretty crazy extremes to get there. I believed in living a life of joy so I followed my passions through multiple careers and even becoming a ship captain and sailing across many oceans! I met so many amazing and challenging people and was blessed to have so many pretty awesome wisdo- givers in my life over many decades.
I became a therapist as a final career destination because I wanted to share all that wisdom and experience to help other people get where they wanted to go, quicker, and less painlessly (I took LOTS of hard knocks along the way!)
I love what I do, I vanquish panic attacks, help people find their own superpower, and get to journey with you as you figure out how to make your life awesome. It’s a ton of tough-joy-filled work, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Let’s talk and see if this might be a fit? Looking forward to meeting you in person, in my office, or online in my secure virtual office.
    Best wishes, seriously,
