Personal Statement
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in Texas and Arkansas. I have over fifteen years of counseling experience with individuals and families, improving relationships, working with parents, and helping individuals with emotional issues, parenting issues, relationship issues, divorce, and grief. I have a Masters of Education Specializing in Counseling. I have collaborated with the juvenile judicial system to develop programs to assist adolescents and families with issues such as addiction, anger management, depression, anxiety, communication, and stress management.
I believe in fostering a non-judgmental relationship with individuals and practice from a strengths-based perspective, focusing on ones assets and potential. I practice dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational enhancement, and person-centered techniques to assist patients in reaching their goals. My purpose is to help individuals improve coping skills, increase personal happiness, and discover stability in daily life. I have a passion for counseling and strive to improve the life of my client in ways that are both personally and relationally beneficial them.
