Personal Statement

Are you feeling anxious, sad, irritable, and stuck? Are you having difficulty in your relationships and daily life? Are you looking for a new career? As a therapist for individuals, I will work with you to better understand your thoughts and behaviors so you can express yourself more effectively. We can then collaborate on identifying your strengths and using them to find solutions to empower you. In couple’s therapy work, we will use in-session exercises to help you recognize and change attitudes and behaviors that damage your relationship. I use a positive-psychology approach to help you find the innate resiliencies in your life.

We will use cognitive behavioral therapy and insight-oriented work to help you identify distorted thoughts, maladaptive coping patterns, and unconscious beliefs that may underlie your thoughts and actions. We will identify self-criticism and work in a calm and nonjudgmental manner to help you thrive in the ways that are most important to you.

During this time of international crises, we will use common-sense mind-body approaches to help you foster resiliency and positivity. We will focus on communication and conflict-resolution skills using the practices of John Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Please feel free to call or email me to set up a complimentary 15-minute consult.
