Personal Statement

I continue to believe therapy truly is a collaboration between the therapist and client in a warm, safe, judgment-free environment. My style is interactive, educational and integrative. I listen, but am also willing to provide feedback when appropriate. My Midwest origins contribute to a warm, friendly atmosphere while my sense of humor helps put people at ease. Please note : At times I am able to flex my fee depending on financial need.

In my initial clinical training, I focused on adults and children, however working within the field of eating disorders naturally integrated the adolescent population to the focus of my practice. I have been working with adolescents and their parents in the public and private school systems in Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, Rye, Rye Brook and the surrounding Fairfield County and Westchester County regions for twenty six years.

In addition to psychotherapy, I give presentations on all aspects of eating disorders (including athletes), understanding adolescent development and effective parenting strategies. In the past I was a volunteer for the Rape and Sexual Assault Crisis Center in Stamford, Ct and The Den for Grieving Children in Greenwich, Ct.
