Personal Statement

Many people hit roadblocks in their lives that seem impossible to overcome. I can work with you on your most personal problems relating to your thoughts, emotions, and actions in order to help you achieve a more fulfilling and meaningful life. My primary style is cognitive-behavioral therapy while also drawing on other therapeutic approaches such as solution-focused therapy and family-focused therapy. My goal as your therapist is to tailor a personalized treatment plan to help you alter unproductive behaviors and harmful ways of thinking to alleviate the problem and its symptoms in a compassionate and safe setting.

I provide individual, couples, and family counseling in addition to group therapy in a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues. I also provide assessment services. My areas of specialty are depression, anxiety, and thought disorders. I also conduct group therapy in bipolar disorder, insomnia, personality disorders and parenting support.

After earning her B.A. in Psychology at UCLA, Serine went on to pursue her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University where she was trained in a variety of forms of psychotherapy. She has worked for the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute with some of the leading innovators in the field of mental health providing therapy for adolescents with mental disorders in individual, family and group settings.
