Personal Statement

I work with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, life-style transition, family discord, survivors of abuse, or the standard day-to-day stressors. I have a particular interest in working with sexual issues and sex therapy. I specialize in working with individuals who are affiliated with the Jewish community. I am intimately familiar with the rules and customs as well as the family structure of this particular community.

The work we do together will be rooted in the REBT approach. The fun aspect of Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy is that someday you will be able to apply this technique on your own. Wouldn’t it be great to learn to be your own therapist?! That’s our goal!

I work from an interpersonal and existential perspective because I believe that we are all seeking connection, meaning, and faith in that we have the skills to impact our own life and the life of those around us. While doing an internship at Rikers Island Correction Facility I embraced the challenge of helping clients achieve meaning and to facilitate confidence in making their own choices. Practicing psychotherapy in New York City gives me the opportunity to see clients from many walks of life with a variety of concerns. I am also knowledgeable and aware of the importance of integrating a sex positive approach with religious beliefs. Together, we work on self-exploration, personal development, and learning new problem solving skills.
