    My Approach to Helping

Although we all experience change, it doesn’t mean that we can always effectively handle the stress of transition. Sometimes we feel “lost at sea”. With support, people can learn to surf the waves of change, steer in the direction that is right for them, and find the clarity, creativity, and humor to help them stay afloat.
With over 30 years of experience counseling and coaching adults I know that “one size does not fit all” and I tailor my methods and style to meet the needs of each client. I believe in the ability of each individual to find his or her way by building on their strengths and increasing their ability to be resilient. Connecting with others, developing new skills, learning to improvise in meeting life’s challenges, and finding the humor in life are all ways of staying emotionally healthy during stressful times. My intention is to build a supportive, trustworthy, and meaningful relationship with my clients so they feel understood and safe as they explore and confront the issues and concerns that they are dealing with in their lives.

Although I have been counseling for many, many years I continue to love doing this work and have the utmost faith in people’s ability to grow and change and find the AHA moments in their lives, even when things feel overwhelming and exhausting. I am patient and able to “hold the faith” in the process.

    More Info About My Practice

I belong to a number of insurance and EAP panels. I am willing to negotiate with clients regarding fees – so that it is workable for both of us.

Due to COVID-19 I offer telephone and Telehealthvideo sessions.

Specific Issue(s) I’m Skilled at Helping With

I also work with artists, writers, performers and anyone who wants to explore their creative side. I work with creative blocks, performance anxiety, and specific issues of the ?artist?s lifestyle? For example your partner is upset because you are always rehearsing or painting or writing. Or perhaps you are figuring out how to find the energy to pursue your creative side while raising a family or holding a financially necessary job.

Fees: I accept the fees contracted for managed care and a variety of insurances. You will have to find out if you have a co-pay, co-insurance or deductible. I will not have that information. I collect fees at each session – cash, check or credit card. My regular fee for out of network is $95. If you are not using insurance and pay at time of session, I offer a 20% discount so that would be $76. In some cases, if that is a problem, I am willing to work with you to settle on a fee that works for both of us.

Sliding Scale Available  InfoClinicians who offer sliding scale payment structures may offer lower or reduced fees based on an individual’s ability to pay. Please contact this clinician for more details regarding their fees or sliding scale policy.
