Personal Statement
As our lives evolve, we inevitably experience periods of loss, frustration and conflict that signal the need for better understanding and change. Are you experiencing a major life change or challenge? Job loss, relationship breakups, divorce, death, disappointment, or other crisis? Your angry, sad, anxious or lonely feelings may feel overwhelming, but you do not have to go through this alone. I can walk the journey with you to a more comfortable relationship with yourself, your life, and others.
I am a psychotherapist who works with individuals, couples and groups. In addition to being a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), I am also certified in group psychotherapy (CGP), adjunct professor at American University and the founder of Aida Therapy.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and two Master’s degrees, in Business Administration and Social Work, I have have over 35 years of experience in public, private, and non-profit organizations. I use a combination of psychological acumen, business experience, mindful awareness, and multicultural sensitivity in my Dupont Circle therapy practice to help clients grow through their adversity to lead balanced and fulfilling lives.
