My Approach to Helping
Notice: I am currently conducting telehealth (remote) sessions.
We are currently experiencing elevated levels of fear, isolation, loneliness and despair. I am available to help process and make sense of these complex and painful feelings.
I believe in using humor to deal with the difficulties of living. Anxiety and depression are symptoms that are encouraging us to look deeper into ourselves with curiosity and compassion. I will work with you to help you live more in the moment and with greater freedom in your work and relationships; to develop a greater capacity to feel comfortable in your own skin. Therapy can be a rewarding journey when embarked upon with the awareness that we are all human and all struggling to make our way. I am here to help.

My View on the Nature of ‘Disorders’
I view many mental health ‘disorders’ more as clusters of symptoms as opposed to illnesses themselves. Like in physical illness, symptoms are what we experience of an illness, and alert us to its presence in the body; similar to the warning lights on the dashboard of a car. Symptoms, however, are not the illness itself and alleviating symptoms should not be the only goal of treatment. It is important, whether for a physical illness or an emotional ‘disorder’ to to relieve the distress of symptoms, while also treating their underlying causes. This is akin to looking under the hood of the car after seeing the warning light appear on the dashboard!
