Personal Statement
My passion lies in empowering individuals and families to overcome trauma, as well as behavioral, emotional, and socio-economic issues that are negatively impacting their lives. I work with youth and families with mental health needs. Through my educational training, work, and volunteer experiences, I have advocated for social change on behalf of the women, children, and families I work with on the national and local level.
My clinical experience includes providing intensive in-home child and adolescent psychiatric services (IICAPS), outpatient individual and family therapy, and direct care for youth residing in residential facilities. I collaborate with providers such as DCF, Juvenile Probation, and school systems to ensure my client’s are given the resources they need to be successful.
My clients tell me that my sense of humor, customized approach, and respect for their personal beliefs allows them to feel at ease. I put a strong emphasis on making the therapeutic experience a team approach between myself and my clients.
