Personal Statement
People seek counseling for a variety of reasons. Some need help identifying solutions to specific problems. Others want to better understand their feelings of depression, anxiety, or anger and seek assistance in identifying strategies for coping or changing. Many individuals are not sure what they want to get from counseling, but recognize the need to meet with an objective person to gain insight as to how they might cultivate a stronger sense of wellness and engagement in their daily lives. Contact me for a free consultation to see how I can help you. My goals are to help you better understand your patterns, identify and maximize your strengths, and make choices that will increase your sense of purpose and agency in life. I believe in bringing compassion, humor, and authenticity into our daily lives, both in and out of therapy.
Areas of particular interest include self-esteem; stress management; post-partum support; relationship issues; self-exploration; aging, and life transitions. I am EMDR-trained. I am a dedicated, service-oriented professional who is skilled in program management and who has expertise in nonprofit administration, board and volunteer development, marketing, and fundraising. I am also a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who provides psychotherapy to adults and adolescents.
