Personal Statement
My personal statement is pretty simple, “Everyone matters.” I work with clients to help him/her reach his/her goals to make his/her life better. I practice in a confidential, judgement free zone, where the client is the #1 priority.
As for my professional education and credentials, I have my CSWPIP license in South Dakota. This is the highest social work license in the state, and allows me to have a private practice of my own. I earned my Master of Social Work degree (MSW) from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN. During my studies I focused on therapy with individuals and families. Prior to that, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and Criminal Justice from the University of Sioux Falls, SD.
I have been in private practice since 2013. What drew me to starting my own business was the freedom to create my own schedule, to have better control over my work-life balance, and the ability to see a wider variety of clients. The perks of a private practice that I did not count on is I have control over the energy in my office (the atmosphere which I prefer is more homelike), and the ability to better serve my clients and meet their needs in general.
