    My Approach to Helping

Your past does not have to define your future. I will help you work through negative emotions that can impact your happiness. Sometimes the issues we face seem greater than the resources we have to cope. Counselling is a collaborative process between you and I, that helps to access resources, both inwardly and outwardly, to face life’s challenges. Seeking and receiving help can restore hope that has been lost and lead the way to positive changes in personal satisfaction and relationships. Why deal with life’s challenges alone? I am a caring and qualified psychotherapist who has been trained to help you through life’s difficulties.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

I believe strongly that each person has an inherent capacity for emotional healing similar to the body’s physical healing mechanisms. However, past negative experiences or trauma can block access to these inner strengths. During psychotherapy the you and I work together in a collaborative process that serves to remove defenses and access the inner strength within the individual. This is when true transformation takes place.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

First, I have a great love for people and believe in the power each person has to change once they have the right tools. Secondly, I receive immense satisfaction from witnessing people’s transformation from depresssion, fear, anxiety and self-loathing to joy and peace of mind. If relieving physical suffering is the goal of the medical profession, I think relieving emotional suffering should be the goal of psychotherapy.
