My Approach to Helping
My experience as a loving father, husband, and grandfather, in addition to my counseling experience and graduate studies, helps me understand and resolve your marital and family difficulties. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). This approach helps you understand your assumptions, beliefs, behaviors, and thoughts so you can change your behavior. CBT tackles negative behaviors and emotions that are the product of inaccurate or incomplete understandings of your life and its events.
CBT aims to modify behavior, and is one of the fastest ways to achieve results in therapy. CBT is instructive, extensively relying on homework to help clients more quickly progress. CBT allows you to break overwhelming problems down into more manageable challenges. This makes it easier to understand the links between your problems, so you can design and implement effective solutions.
CBT examines life challenges, then tracks your thoughts, emotions, actions, and physical feelings. CBT requires you to take an active role in treatment if it is to work.
