Personal Statement

“Schatzi” in German, is a term of endearment meaning “treasure.” In counseling, the client’s life story, relationships, attachments, emotions and thoughts are to be respected and cherished as a treasure.

It’s a brave act to seek counseling and lay one’s precious life in the hands of another. It is my desire to meet my clients where they are in their development and to offer skills and therapy to increase overall mental health individually, relationally and socially.

Sometimes difficulties are addressed in a few sessions or it may take a period of time to address the issues. The client decides how often and for how many sessions counseling will last. Working with Graduate Student Interns from area universities, I have access to counselors-in-training that can provide reduced fees.
