    My Approach to Helping

As an integrative therapist, I see my primary role as one of seeing possibility, not pathology. I aim to reinforce connection and infuse your relationships with vibrancy, curiosity, and kindness. I help my clients connect with their own resources, enabling them to cultivate a nourished and authentic life. I am passionate about reconnecting to the intuitive gut feelings each of us have, and about helping my clients follow these feelings. You are the expert on yourself, and trusting in yourself is key to my practice.

I value the unique path you are on and offer a multidimensional strength-based approach that incorporates experiential models, Gestalt, EMDR, attachment, somatic work, mindfulness, and expressive arts.

My specialties include loss and grief, transitions and trauma, and couples counseling. Loss, trauma, and stress can impede your happiness and the flow of your life. Healing happens within brokenness and confusing. When things fall apart, real growth can occur. Of course, your life won’t be the same after a significant loss, but experiencing your feelings and following their natural course will allow you to adjust to living on. It can be very useful to find healthy ways to work with your pain so that, in time, it can transform you, renew you and permit you to grow into your new way of being. I use a variety of modalities to work with obstacles so that you can return to living life instead of just coping with it.

In counseling, you will learn different ways of communicating and expressing yourself, how to make boundaries while forging closeness, and other empowering skills. I work from both the inside-out and the outside-in? supporting discernment and self-inquiry while investigating stuck behaviors, cycles, and patterns. Connection is the cornerstone to building intimacy, trust, and relational resilience. When you begin to discover your partner in the here and now, you can focus on what matters most to you both.

    More Info About My Practice

If you’d like to talk about what brought you to my page or how I can help, please contact me. Perhaps you are facing a challenging transition, adjusting to loss, or battling a long history of self-defeating behaviors. Maybe you wish to deepen your capacity for intimacy. Perhaps you want more clarity.
I endeavor to offer reasonable rates, and provide a sliding scale for those facing financial issues. I do not charge for the initial half-hour consultation in person or by phone. This consultation allows us to see if we are a good fit.

    My Role as a Therapist

I meet you where you are, viewing you as resourceful, whole, and wise. I reflect your own understanding and unfolding. My mindfulness practice and compassionate approach enable me to be fully present as you move through the process. Our relationship forms the foundation of trust from which meaningful insights grow. I listen, watch, open my mind, and use my skills to serve you as you navigate the path toward discovering a fuller, richer life.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

My aim is to provide a safe setting where you feel comfortable being honest with yourself and me. Together, we help your nervous system regulate itself gently through the use of various tools and techniques which will set your mind at ease. You get to control the pacing of your work and you get to pause at anytime if things feel too intense. You will have my full support in tip-toeing into the stories, patterns of thinking and behaviors that cause you to get stranded. One of the many skills you will learn is how to tolerate various disquieting and uncomfortable thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations. When you are able to be with them, you can then attend to the messages behind them which arise for your benefit,
