Personal Statement
Whether you are looking for relief from distress, or trying to understand yourself better and create a more meaningful life, therapy can help. My own approach is to use the current problem as an opportunity to better understand what is happening unconsciously, and to promote both healing and growth. Because, while anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and other psychological problems may be a result of past or current circumstances–they may also be an unconscious effort to find a new, more satisfying way of living for the future.
When we live in a way that is unbalanced, or that leaves out certain parts of our personality, it can lead to a sense of despair or alienation. So one goal of psychotherapy is to identify and include the parts of your personality that have been excluded.
I would describe myself as related, grounding, and practical.
