    My Approach to Helping

I help clients understand and use their feelings in relation to their thought processes; that is, I integrate clients applying changes in thinking and feeling in problem solving behaviors. Additionally, I help clients understand and use their understanding of their meaning and purpose in life. This focus, in turn, is integrated with the initial focus of aiding clients in understanding and using changes in their thoughts and feelings. I especially focus on and work directly with religious and spiritual issues in the lives of clients. Finally, all of this work with clients is set in the understanding and use of overcoming negative, destructive relationships and helping clients discover what a good relationship is and how to achieve such relationships in their day to day living.

    More Info About My Practice

Clients will receive a free initial telephone consultation in regard to their problems and how I propose to begin the process of helping clients with these problems. This, then, will be followed by an in-office consultation in which a specific plan will be developed for what exactly will happen in the psychotherapy experience. This dual emphasis provides a clear, direct beginning to the therapeutic experience.

Specific Issue(s) I’m Skilled at Helping With

I am particularly able to help persons who are having problems with religious and spiritual issues. I have been trained extensively in working with persons struggling in this area. In addition to this training, I am trained to work with those problems intertwined with religious/spiritual concerns: depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, confusion about career, vocational choices and emotional pain in understanding one’s life and purpose. The integration of training and education I have had in clinical psychology and pastoral counseling provide me a basis for working in these areas; this type of integration is unusual and often missing in the standard training of therapists and counselors.
