Personal Statement
I believe that most of us can make the changes we deeply want to, particularly if we have a knowledgeable advocate to that process. I believe effective psychotherapy is often about both uncovering how we acquired the (literal or psychological) obstacles to our best paths and about the process of (emotional, cognitive and/or behavioral) skills’ acquisition to remove those blocks. I strive to be a compassionate, trustworthy, and enthusiastic partner to my clients’ growth processes. I also strive to look at each person who walks into my office as a unique individual, and to provide a safe and supportive environment.
In my 29 years of practice, I have had extensive training and experience in treating individuals; relational issues; couple and family concerns; trauma recovery; bereavement; depression; and addictions. I offer both traditional and experiential psychotherapy techniques (such as brainspotting) according to my clients’ needs and preferences.
If you choose to work with me, know that I will draw from a framework of diverse methodologies in order to work with you as an individual with your UNIQUE needs, strengths, and goals. All religions, races, sexual orientations, etc. are welcomed and respected in my practice.
