Personal Statement
For all the “imperfect perfectionists” out there in need of some relief – I hear you! As a ‘recovering perfectionist’ myself, I know first-hand how much distress we can create in our own lives. We hold ourselves to high (sometimes impossible) standards and often feel we are falling short. Anxiety and depression can follow – along with feelings of shame and guilt that we aren’t as “good” or happy as we should be. It doesn’t have to be so hard! We can work together to help you find joy and contentment by creating a loving, compassionate relationship with yourself.
My practice is grounded in person-centered and cognitive behavioral approaches; my focus is on helping you shift from a place of judgment to one of self-acceptance. I create a supportive space, for it is only when you feel safe to share your truth that real change can happen.
I also really enjoy working with new and expectant parents on how to prepare themselves and their relationship for the challenges (and excitement) of parenthood. We address common struggles and pitfalls that can damage partner connections and help you protect (and baby-proof) your relationship.
