As a licensed psychologist, I view therapy as a partnership between myself and my client, where the client identifies the goals and I provide the expertise and guidance helpful in achieving those goals. I recognize the importance of the therapeutic relationship and take time to understand my patient’s needs as well as respect their unique circumstances. I provide a warm, trusting, and supportive environment that facilitates self-exploration and growth.
In practice, I draw from the field of positive psychology to help patients remove obstacles and create lasting positive life changes. Blending conventional and alternative approaches, I draw on a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client while considering what science says works. I have experience treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders and a variety of presenting concerns. In addition to individual therapy, I offer family and couples therapy, addictions treatment, trauma resolution, group therapy, and psychological testing to children and adults.
With more than 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I have experience working in a variety of settings including: hospital, college counseling center, community mental health centers, primary and secondary education settings and in private practice for more than a decade. I teach as adjunct faculty at Nova Southeastern University and regularly supervise other mental health clinicians.
