My Approach to Helping
** I am still accepting new clients and have immediate openings for Teletherapy (video or phone sessions) for clients who are quarantined. I look forward to supporting you during these uncertain times.**
My experience, training, and education allow me to offer you a counseling experience that will remove blocks and barriers in your life and help you establish meaningful connections, starting with your connection to your true self. In regularly scheduled sessions-usually 50 minutes in length-you will work with me to identify, learn to manage, and, ultimately, overcome emotional andor mental problems. Our discussions will reveal the basis of problems and enable you to better understand yourself and gain relief from specific issues. Psychotherapy is an active process requiring concentration, energy, and commitment by both parties. Many patients complete psychotherapy in 16 or fewer sessions, especially for behavior-specific problems. Individual psychotherapy takes place in the privacy of the therapist-patient relationship. Psychotherapy also may be conducted in the context of group, marital, or family treatment.
The majority of people who undertake psychotherapy experience significant improvement. It is also important to remember that therapy is a process between therapist and client in which we will work together to achieve your goals.
More Info About My Practice
Two key points about therapy:
1. Therapy requires change, and some of that change may be uncomfortable. Please know that that is a normal, manageable part of the healing process.
2. Most clients come to therapy weekly for 3 to 6 months. Your actual time in treatment depends on your unique circumstances, so your treatment may be shorter or longer. You of course have the right to discontinue treatment at any time.
Updated Availability in response to COVID-19:
Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
The best part of my job is truly making a difference in people’s lives. Whether it is a successful intervention or being able to witness a person’s transformation from emptiness to empowerment, that is what truly makes me happy. It may be a cliche, but making a difference is what it’s all about for me.
My Role as a Therapist
I see myself as an educated, experienced helper whose role it is to guide you back to your center. I see you as a unique human being who, with encouragement and guidance, can get back on track and be a happier person.
