    My Approach to Helping

Good psychotherapy requires a “match” between client(s) and therapist and avoids “stretching the client to fit the couch.” Finding the right psychotherapist involves both clinical skill and personality match. A good therapist is genuine, warm, and offers a human relationship with guidance and good advice. What I offer as a clinician is an active style of psychotherapy with a high regard for where you are in your journey, what your goals are, and what things can be pointed out and changed along the path to growth and improved relationships. As a Marriage & Family Therapist, I work with individuals, couples and families providing child, adolescent and adult psychotherapy. My approach is inclusive of Eastern and Western thought, and includes the fields of neuropsychology, neurolinguistics, emotional and cognitive intelligence, and communication skills. I have extensive training in the fields of bereavement, terminal and chronic illness. Although my graduate specialty included child and adolescent therapy in my family training, I enjoy working with a range of ages and problems.

    More Info About My Practice

We are pleased to announce Touchstone Counseling will be relocating to Apex in mid-August. Our new address will be 501 North Salem Street, Suite 101, Apex, NC 27502. Please check this site for more details on August 15, 2014.

The new office is located in the Western Triangle area, at Salem Street & I-64 near the I-540 interchange. We are one block from Apex’s Historic Business District where shops, boutiques, art, and restaurants are thriving with people and excitement. Our office is handicapped accessible and parking is at the rear of the building. The entrance to Suite 101 is also at the back of the building on the right side. Please call with any questions. I am in-network with many major health plans and Employee Assistance programs. If I am not a provider with your plan, and you have out-of-network benefits, I am happy to submit the bills to your plan. When you call, you will likely reach my voicemail. Please do leave me a message, as I am more than likely working with a client like you when you call. I don’t interrupt my sessions. I try and make my call backs at the end of my work day. Do leave me several ways to reach you. Once in a while it takes me 24-48 hours to call you back (more if you call on the weekend) but I will return your call. Please be sure to let me know if I can leave a voicemail, otherwise I will not and will simply try again to reach you and please speak clearly so I can understand your message. I look forward to speaking with you!
