    My Approach to Helping

TELE HEALTH: I OFFER PHONE AND OTHER TELEHEALTH OPTIONS DURING THIS PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY. CALL OR EMAIL L FOR MORE INFO!

Life can simply work better at times with some help.

Psychotherapy is an effective tool, both to resolve deep seated difficulties rooted in the past and to make headway with the more immediate issues in our present day lives. It can help relieve anxiety, depression and stress and can help you with relationships with family, at work and in a more general way.

My approach is interactive, using a psychoanalytic context to understand current difficulties. While clients want to better deal with long-standing issues rooted in the past, they also want present – oriented help resolving these troubles.

TELE HEALTH: I OFFER PHONE AND OTHER TELEHEALTH OPTIONS DURING THIS PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY. CALL OR EMAIL L FOR MORE INFO!

In my practice, I tend to work with a wide range of people who are high functioning but suffering emotional pain. I see students, graduate students, financial professionals, business people, attorneys, medical professionals, and others from all walks of life. Suffering isn’t the sole province of any one group.

I take some insurances, so please ask about it. I try to arrange fees that are mutually agreeable.
And I am happy to help you navigate through the often confusing insurance system if you request that. Many insurance plans (PPO or POS for instance) cover out of network doctors. Please check with your Insurance Company to see if out of network coverage is available for psychotherapy with me.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

Although psychotherapy has multiple purposes, most people find the central purpose to be relief from emotional suffering. We start there. But there can also be motivations that include understanding difficult patterns within relationships, families and at work– to know yourself more deeply and better. That can help tremendously in moving forward in life.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I feel that being a psychotherapist is a wonderful profession! Each individual, and his or her life narrative, is unique, interesting and complex. Doing psychotherapy is a way to help people, to be constantly deepening one’s skills, and to learn about each unique patient with whom you’re working.

Fees: TELE HEALTH: I OFFER PHONE AND OTHER TELEHEALTH OPTIONS DURING THIS PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY. CALL OR EMAIL L FOR MORE INFO!
My fees are mid range for experienced clinicians in this area, and I offer flexible options when financially necessary. My fee range is from $175 – $250. I accept HMO Blue insurance and I am happy to work with you to navigate the often confusing health insurance landscape for other insurances, as an out of network “provider”. I offer the courtesy to the people I work with of billing most insurance companies directly (as an out of network provider). If you prefer I can provide you with all the information you need for directly submitting for reimbursement yourself. Please check with your insurance company to see if you have out of network benefits, tele health benefits, and to know if you have a deductible and how much that is. If you have that information you can find a therapist who will be a good fit for you, which is so important!
