My Approach to Helping
There are many reasons to enlist the help of a therapist. If you have found your way here, I imagine you may be struggling with some aspect of yourself or with someone important to you. You may have the sense that you are not living the life you want to live, and wish to step more powerfully into yourself. Psychotherapy is a powerful tool to help you change patterns that are no longer serving you; to help you reconnect with your natural aliveness and to bring this aliveness into the world.
I am a skillful therapist who offers compassion, kindness, humor, and an interactive, down-to-earth style. I pair traditional psychodynamic therapy with body-oriented psychotherapy and mindfulness practices. I prioritize the development of a supportive and safe therapeutic relationship.
Each of us holds the innate power to heal and transform, and effective therapy is a collaborative process. Therapy isn’t just about exploring pain and examining life’s challenges. Good therapy emphasizes what works and builds upon those innate strengths. The powerful changes you can experience make it easier to develop healthy relationships, happiness, a sense of purpose, and soulful authenticity. I love this work, and it is an honor to be witness and guide as clients reconnect with a sense of harmony, creativity, wisdom, and vitality.
I have a master’s degree from Antioch University in clinical psychology. I have advanced training in Hakomi body-oriented/mindfulness-based Therapy, and in PACT, a Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy. In addition to my work as a therapist, I am a dancer, a poet, a beekeeper and a lover of wild woods and tended gardens.
