    My Approach to Helping

*NOW EXCLUSIVELY OFFERING TELEHEALTH COUNSELING* I work to provide a non-threatening and non-judgmental environment where clients feel free to express their innermost thoughts, feelings, and ideas. Therapy is interactive, and I provide challenges along with a unique understanding of each person’s individual life and struggles. I believe in each client’s individuality and therefore, do not stick with one theory or technique. Therapy is uniquely customized for each individual, couple, and family depending on needs and personalities. I feel everyone has the potential to be happy and fulfilled in life, they may just need the push and encouragement towards the right direction for them. I want to help clients achieve their hopes and dreams while identifying and removing the blocks that are potentially standing in their way. Everyone deserves a great life, and I work towards empowering people to realize their full potential.

    More Info About My Practice

We are a Mental Health Wellness Center (Noyau Wellness Center) that primarily focuses on counseling but also incorporates nutrition and diet, if needed, as an added benefit to our clients. If it fits your needs, you can work collaboratively with our dietitian and massage therapist to achieve the ultimate well-being, happiness, and success you are hoping to experience. We can design a program that best fits each client’s needs and desires whether it be just with counseling or a combination of any of the other services offered.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love being a therapist because I get the opportunity to facilitate healing. People come into my office in various degrees of pain, confusion, or indifference, and I get to experience them healing and achieving things they never thought possible. I get to see real growth and change everyday and experience people becoming happy and invigorated.

    My Role as a Therapist

My role as a therapist is a facilitator. I work to help people understand their wants, needs, and desires and how best for them to get there. Clients are the experts on themselves and their lives, and my job is not to tell them what is best for them. I want to help them figure out the best path for themselves and what is standing in their way. I work to help them navigate these barriers and break through them.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

You have to “click” with your therapist. If you do not feel comfortable, you will not be able to open up and get the most out of your therapeutic experience. You also want to make sure the therapist you see is open and non-judgemental. You want to feel free to be who you are and not feel like you are going to be made to feel guilt or inadequate. Your therapist should also have some experience in working with the issue in which you are struggling. They do not necessarily need to have experienced it themselves, but they should be knowledgable about what you are going through.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

Painful feelings and experiences can be difficult and feel overwhelming. Many clients feel they will land in a black hole that they will not be able to get out of again. My role is to not let you stay in that place. I work to make it comfortable to go through these feelings and help clients develop the most beneficial coping mechanisms for themselves. Painful experiences can be scary to work through, but it can be indescribably freeing to get those experiences out and find meaning.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

People who seek therapy are quite the opposite of weak and flawed. They have the courage and strength to face their issues and get an outside perspective on something they have not been able to work through alone. It takes incredible strength to talk about struggles with another person and seek outside understanding and guidance.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

My goal is for clients to achieve healing and success as quickly as possible. The harder a client works, the quicker the results. Clients are in control of when they feel they are ready to move on with their lives and feel well enough to take on their worlds on their own. I typically see clients once a week to gain momentum and then taper off as they begin to heal. However, if a client needs to come in less frequently, that is always an option.
