Personal Statement

My objectives are: to apply knowledge and skills I have learned during the course of completing my degrees in clinical counseling, special education and elementary education to provide individuals with an encouraging, safe, comfortable, and challenging environment to learn and grow. I have more than 15 years experience working with children, teens, adults, and families touched by autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and behavioral challenges.

I am passionate about assisting individuals with disabilities be successful in their communities. I am Adlerian trained and tend to focus my treatment approaches on a client’s mistaken beliefs. I am trained in using Mindfullness strategies to assist clients in reducing anxiety, coping with stressful situations, or frustration.

Amy’s therapeutic approach is to provide a safe and supportive environment to help clients effectively address challneges they are facing. With compassion and care, she works with individuals to help them build on their strengths and achieve the personal growth they are seeking.
